Does language matter?

Having a website or an online service in your own language is a plus? Or? How much does a website language matter to you?

On a scale of 1-10 how much do you care for websites content to be in your local language instead of English? Explain why, in your own language.

    For me it really depends on the content I’m looking for, if it is technical content I still prefer to read it in English.

    My mother tongue is Arabic and because of the lack of an exact translation to some new technical jargon words I don’t always get it.. so I prefer to read it in English.

    As for non-technical subjects I appreciate finding an Arabic alternative, actually I encourage having content in my local language because if we don’t start now to have things “written” more than it is “translated” in Arabic we won’t have a real good content in this language.

    Although my mother tongue is not English I still prefer English because it is the language that I studied in and work with.

    It doesn’t really matter to me, as long as I get the gist of it. I speak three languages, and I find English to be the least expressive but the most precise of them all.

    Like Rida said, if it’s IT-related, I’d rather get the English version because other languages still don’t cross very well.

    I like to read Farsi websites specialy for our entertainment gossip and news even when I read technology news and blogs I prefer them in Farsi and it is available.
