Abu Dhabi Public Libraries, Any Idea?
Posted: April 5th, 2007 | Author: dotblack | Filed under: Books, UAE | 3 Comments »I’ve been living in Abu Dhabi for about four months now, just now thought of finding a place to read, a place that is not my office, and is definitely not home, a public library that is. I googled public library abu dhabi and found some links here and there. Where do you read in Abu Dhabi?
Wikipedia got me this.
Now I’m trying to change a habit, I’ve been reading online and e-books for so long that I don’t remember when was the last time I held a book in my hands. And yet trying to get off the usual places that I’d be at–home and office. I’m not looking for books, just the place, you know a good place, or a good library?

Hey,
The best library in Abu Dhabi I believe is located at the Cultural Foundation. Its got a lot of resources and weekly events. They have art galleries from all around the world, book clubs, a photography club…
I should be going there more often. The culture in Abu Dhabi just kills my motivation, because no one is ever interested in doing such things. I should start changing the habit of being lazy and go there more often.
By the way, it is a huge place. Most taxi’s will know where it is, but I believe that it’s main entrance is at the intersection of Airport Road with Khalidiya Road (but on Khalidyia)
Let me know if you end up going!
Ayham
Thanks Ayham, that’s very close by since my office is on the Airport road. I’ll check it out and let you know when I go there, thanks again and welcome to dotone.
Hi Saleh,
Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation is the place! It’s just opposite the Etisalat Main office (with the rodome on top..not the new one). I used to go there very often when I used to work in Abu Dhabi (1998-2001). They have a daily video movie screening (laser disc) large screen and comfy sofas…just Dhs.5/- per show. They screen recent Hollywood flicks. I hope its still on though.
